3 famous celebrities in crypto

Updated: Oct 30, 2021

cryptocurrency is one of and quite possibly THE hottest thing to get into right now. if you don't believe me, see why your favorite celebs got involved

With cryptocurrency being the biggest thing since the first 2 waves of the internet (web1: Communication and web2: Information) it only makes sense that all the biggest names in Hollywood, business, tech, professional sports and more get involved in the space in their own way. The future millionaires and Mark Zuckerburgs of tomorrow are going to make themselves known through crypto and decentralized apps and orgs. Continue below to check out which of your favorite celebs are involved and how.

Mark Cuban

Mark Cuban has been invested in Bitcoin along with a few other cryptocurrencies for some time now. Earlier this year he shared that his allocation of crypto was around 60% in Bitcoin 30% in Ethereum and 10% in everything else.

Something many people love about Mark Cuban's involvement in the world of crypto is that he isn't afraid to have fun with it when he can. For example, when Dogecoin was all at its high he shared that he and his son together had a total of 3,250 Dogecoins. He was interested in the community building project that he even added Dogecoin as a way for his Maverick's website to accept transactions.

Snoop Dogg

In the early days of Bitcoin in 2013, Snoop was one of the few artist to be selling his albums for .3 Bitcoin. Fast forward to today and his involvement in crypto has drastically increased.

NFT's are very hot right now. These are Non-Fungible Tokens that allow source code and images and many other kinds of things that live on the blockchain. They can be used as utilities in the decentralized metaverse, but really people just buy and sell them as collectibles. These can be worth millions of dollars a piece. For example, CryptoPunk #7523 sold for $11.75 million on the OpenSea NFT Market Place. (more on NFTs in future posts)

Given that these are so hot right now, many people find it worth while to follow certain NFT gurus on the internet. One Twitter handle, @cozomomedici, grew in popularity very quick with his guidance on how to make money from NFTs and insights into which NFTs are worth exploring. Just imagine how surprised the NFT community was when Snoop Dogg revealed that it his him who is behind the account with now over 93k followers on Twitter.

As you can see, Snoop's profile pic is sporting one of his many CrpytoPunk NFTs that he has stored in his NFT wallet. As of October of 2021, he has amassed over $17 million dollars in CryptoPunks. Who would've thought that Snoop is actually Cozomo de' Medici, one of the biggest NFT whales/gurus in the space.

Mike Tyson

Tyson was involved heavily with Bitcoin very early on. In 2015 he collaborated with Bitcoin Direct to create his own line of Bitcoin ATMs. The function of his Bitcoin ATM was to complete transactions "in less time than Tyson did a knockout". The line of ATMs also came with an iOS and Android virtual crypto wallet app.

Years later, with Bitcoin reaching levels tens of thousands of dollars greater than it was in 2015, Tyson is still heavily involved in the crypto space. He currently is exploring NFTs and speaks highly of them quite frequently.

hi im Gavin

I'm an 18 year old college student from right outside of Philly, PA. I happened to be very interested in crypto. This includes DeFi, blockchain technology, NFTs, web3, and much more (if you aren't sure what those are, check out my blog i gotchu). I have ran many social media marketing campaigns, know my way around the e-commerce space, and have been addicted to the hustle culture since I found out at a young age that you can make MONEY from the INTERNET. It didn't take long for me to quickly embrace the decentralized future we are heading towards. Be a part of this future that is once again for the people, by the people, and make some money while you do!
